acer aspire one when started on the morning when i wake up has black screen even on the post start up and i can't see anything, so i thought it was a bios problem and needs an update then after restarting over and over again, it successfully turned on and can see the acer post startup then suddenly it will have some messed up screen like all i can see is noise and artifacts then after turning off and on again for several times it will work and display will be normal until i turn it off and then on after hours of leaving it it will have the same problem. My conclusion maybe cold start does this? LCD inverter problem? LCD problem? or the built in graphics chip?
If this happens again i'll try to hook up an external monitor to see if it will work. Any ideas?

Hooking up an external display will clear out your doubts in this matter, for your description of the symptoms points exactly to your diagonstic: Either the graphics chipset or the display inverter are packing.
Just bear in mind that this constant turn-on-and-off is not very healthy for the machine, though...
It might also be a good idea to have that machine throughfully checked with a decent antivirus.
