what is much better, Intel Core 2 Duo E4400 2.0GHz, or AMD Athlon Dual Core L310 1.20 GHz? i heard that 1cycle frequency of intel is twice the cycle of athlon. i just don't really know. please elaborate. thank you so much!

To add to what has been said, this isn't entirely true, but the basic idea is true, in the sense that measuring Ghz frequency is like measuring RPMs on an engine - you can't compare 4000 rpms on an V-8 to 4000 rpm on a 4 cyclinder. AMDs do more work per clock frequency - it is hard to say how much - but not enough to justify choosing this amd over the intel.
Still, the Intel is the better processor of the two
