First off SCSI controllers use there own setup and will ask you to press a key on start-up, the first SCSI will be drive C, but from what you say your using a ATA Host Controller, right????
Why??? it much easier to connect both hard disk into the the motherboard and in bios setup change the boot to secondary master or even reverse the drives, but if your using a Maxtor, then then you will have to disable the bios on the motherboard and plug your drive into the secondary master because the Maxtor harddisk on the ATA Card will be drive C, I hope this helps....
