Barebone Case Psu

Was this a bad idea?
I ordered my dad a barebone from tigerdirect.com he wanted me to build him a computer so he could use the Rosetta stone language program he had. I thought the case that came with it was nice so i swapped all my parts into that case and am using its power supply that is the same ammount of wattage that my other powersupply has.
Should since this PSU came with the case would that make it worse than my original power supply
Or the performance of this computer going down?
Can't see any problems arising from this swap, unless the case is from some unknown manufacturer.
A computer power supply is essentially just a transformer, hardly a high tech item. It either puts out the correct voltages or it doesn't, in which case the computer doesn't operate at all.
