The 9800GTX suggested by the earlier poster is a great midrange card.
However, your CPU (3Ghz Pentium 4) is a bottleneck. The old Pentium 4 isn't fast enough to drive a 9800GTX to maximum framerates, so your performance won't be any better than less expensive options like the GeForce 9600GT or Radeon 4830.
Midrange and high-end video cards also require more power, your existing power supply might not be strong enough. You will also need more memory, so better to spend $80-$100 on your video card, and buy another 1GB of RAM.
If your power supply is 400W or larger, I recommend the Radeon 4830 or GeForce 9600GT. If your power supply is 350W or less, the Radeon 4670 is your best choice.
