My TV is an Akai LCT2060 20 LCD TV which has S-Video and RCA (blue,green,red) and (red,White,yellow) ports and thats about it
Is there anyway I can connect my laptop to it in order to do my schoolwork on my TV?
IF i buy a VGA to RCA cable with (blue,green,red) will that work with both my laptop and TV? or will i be wasting my money ? If so what kinda of cables or converters will i need? My TV is analog by the way but it doesnt have a VGA port
I was actually looking into that today.
If your laptop has an S-Video port(4- or 7-pin), I'd say use an S-Video cable for the easiest solution. (A 4-pin cable will still work on a 7-pin outlet just fine.)
But since you say you only have a VGA port on the laptop, and a TV that accepts YPbPr (the blue-green-red RCA connection) and Composite (the red-white-yellow RCA connection), I'd direct you to the following URL:

These cables should work for your laptop, but I'd double check anyway to verify that your laptop's Graphics Card supports TV-Out. And check with your TV manufacturer/manual if your TV also allows computer VGA-input, to remove that "shadow of a doubt". For the best picture quality you should get the VGA-to-YPbPr(blue-green-red), but this is also the least supported cable(because it is so new). The next would be VGA-to-Composite(red-white-yellow). Then last would be S-Video (lower quality, but the most universal). Of course the provided site also offers an array of adapters as well; if all else fails.
