I keep hearing supporters of Obama saying that McCain was born in Panama and his citizenship is in question. Is it not the case that a person born to American parents on a USA Military base is a citizen of this fine nation? I mean McCain was not adopted into Panama but a Panamanian citizen right? That would mean he would be a Panamanian citizen until he was 18 and then he would have to officially declare his USA citizenship again. Or say he was Adoppted into...hmmm.hypothetically...Indonesia. He would then be Indonesian and not American if he never declared his USA citizenship again at age 18.
So bottom line people born of Solid USA citizens in a USA Military base are USA citizens correct?
Yes... people born on military installations or in a foreign country while a parent is stationed there is still very much an American citizen... especially if both the parents are US citizens and have lived in the US prior to the birth of their child and after the parents were 16.
