I ordered the hard drive and the guard drive caddy for my machine. the parts I ordered Include, black SATA drive connector / interposer, metal bracket and the screws. Then i opened up the back of my laptop and I see this little part that looks like its connecting the interposer to some other part of the board. (Red arrow on the picture of 1st hard drive bay) Does anyone know what this is? I looked on google and it seems that no one knows for sure iifI need this part to install my second hard drive. Do you have the hardware already? The best way to see if the HDD 2 interposer works is by plugging it all in. What is that silver connector? Haven't the foggiest, but it appears that others are dealing with your issue as well. Check out the first link in source.
