Small Blue led Do i need a resistor or somthing?
Hi I want to buy a small blue led for my nintendo wii's classic controller I know that the circut that im dealing with has 3 volts running threw it and thats all. so do i need to get an led with a resistor and if so which one or not thanks for the help im a total noob Lol

As long as the "Vf" rating (forward voltage) of the LED you buy is higher than 3 volts, you should be okay. If you're not sure, start out with a 100 ohm 1/4 watt resistor in series with the LED (either leg). The shorter leg is the cathode and should be connected to the negative supply. If it's not bright enough, reduce the resistance to 82 ohms, 68 ohms, etc. until it's the right brightness. If you have a current meter, the current should not exceed 20 milliamps.
