Can anyone give me an idea of the costs involved in purchase of an Intel CPU fan?Or any good alternatives?
I think I need to change the CPU fan as my p.c. keeps shutting down on account of "thermal overheat". I've already cleared the fan of dust and still the problem persists. I am looking for good brands of CPU fans for my P4 assembled home computer. The cheap chinese fan that my technician installed stopped working within a week of its installation. I think I need a better, more reliable cooling solution for my p.c.
About £200 gets you a full water cooling kit... or £15 for a simple fan and heatsink. You've got a lot of things to consider for heat - everything from the ambient temp, to the airflow in the case.
