Is it okay to run prime95 on stock cooling fan with cpu at stock settings?
Or do I need to get an aftermarket fan, assuming i leave the cpu at stock settings.

Prime95 is to check your temps. You can run prime95 to see if the stock cooler is adequate to cool your cpu.
Use realtemp or some other program to check temps.
