i am looking mid range cooler mine is E6420 cpu 2.13Hz @2.275 using box cooler want run this around 2.5HZ do i need to increase the voltage ...by how much ...i am wiling spend £15.00 ....but should i get case cooler or cpu ..if i want to over clock cos in my case there is spot that i can put a fan right in front of the cpu.....
stock coolers that are in the box generally work OK. you should not need to increase the core voltage, but you may want to buy a aftermarket cooler to drop the temps and increase the life of the hardware.. if that's true of not I haven't noticed a failure from heat yet, but you must work within the safe working temp's of the CPU which you can find on the white paper.
Try Hardware analysis .com and search for your CPU and you will find what settings you need to clock your processor and what it will do, you can find it from over review sites as well. just put in review and the CPU
