which has the best laptops. im liking dell because they have the "get 3gb for the price of 2" thing going onnn.... and their laptops look good.
but ive had bad experience with dell.
i also like compaq because i have a compaq desktop and after a year, not problems..
i like acer because thy seem to have good specs but some of their laptops look cheap.
and toshiba. their 400 laptop is kinda old, and huge.

Laptops are like people. Their skins may be different but underneath, they're all the same. Look at the specs. If you want to do powerful processing you're going to want an Intel setup because their processors are stronger than AMDs. If you want powerful graphics rendering, you're going to want an AMD setup because the ATi Mobility Radeon Series completely destroy the Intel Graphics Media Accelerator Series. I'd go with AMD myself because while the AMD CPU may feel a bit slow sooner than the Intel, you can't upgrade graphics in a laptop so the Intel GMAs will be completely UNABLE to play games that the ATi Radeons can. In the $500 range for instance, the Intel Pentium Dual-Core T4400 is only 31% more powerful than the AMD Athlon II X2 M300 while the ATi Mobility Radeon HD 4200 is 146% more powerful than the Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 4500 MHD according to notebookcheck.com. That means the performance gap between the GPUs is nearly 5 times as wide as the performance gap between CPUs for the same amount of money. I often see questions in this forum asking how to upgrade laptop graphics but I almost NEVER see questions on how to upgrade laptop processors.
