Dell laptop inverter replacement?
I replaced the LCD inverter on my Dell laptop (Inspiron 6000) because the screen was going dark after a couple of minutes being on. It worked for about 1 day. Now the screen goes dark after just a few seconds. I still suspect the inverter since I can still see the screen when I shine a light on it. Suggestions? Try again with a new ordered part? Give up? If it comes to the need for professional repair I'll just replace the laptop and use it for a video/internet server for my family room TV
I would find a new lcd screen AND inverter for it. It sounds like the lcd has been damaged by the bad inverter. This means the lcd is now probably killing the inverter.
