Okay, i have a dell optiplex gx280 (tower) and there is a humming sound coming from it.
i have narrowed the issue down.
it is not the fan or anything that is making this sound, it is actually the heatsink, let me
explain.

Sounds like the heatsink could be dusty, I recommend using a can of compressed air and spraying some on the heatsink to get rid of the dust, and see if that helps, if not, try repositioning the fan, because it could be rubbing on the heatsink, if not, then it is just a normal hum from the fan running, and isn't a major cause for alarm.
