Are these pieces compatable?
This is what I have for my new rig:
LIAN LI PC-V1000BPlus II Black Aluminum ATX Mid Tower Computer ( I know this is fine)
CORSAIR 4GB (2X2BG sticks) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model TWIN2X4096-6400C5 G - Retail
DFI BLOOD IRON P35-T2RL LGA 775 Intel P35 ATX Intel Motherboard - Retail
Interl Core 3 Duo R6600 Conroe 2.4GHz LGA 775 Processor Model BX80557E6600 - Retail
So, I know that the mother board the the processor should play well. But I am not at all sure about the RAM with the board, or if the process or and RAM will play well together. I hope that this makes sense. I am just a bit new to all of this and it is overwhelming . . . . .
It's not the processor being compatible with the RAM .. rather it's the Motherboard. The MB company has the spec sheet for the MB and it will include the type of socket and number of pins used. The speed range will also be specified, but that matters less.
