MPEG 4 movie to DVD or wmv?

I have a movie in the form of MPEG 4 and i am trying to burn it to a DVD-R. I was told i had to put it into wmv form and make it on Microsofts Dvd maker? Idk!!!Can somebody help? Please try to make it free and fast. Thanks a lot=)
