why does my video card shut down?
why does my video card shut down. i have a ati radeon x1900xtx while loading doom 3 my video will just shut down before it even loads it is not getting hot and the drivers are up to date
my mobo is a asus m2n68-la from hp with on board video it is the micro version with only two ram slots i have a amd athlon 64 3600 X2 with 2 gb consiar pc6400 800 ram i have a amd 6000 approved heatsink with up graded fan i have 900 wat power supply i have a 80 mm fan on the front side and a 90mm on the back it has a port to the cpu fan witch pulls cold air sraight to the cpu fan running windows vista home basic 32 sometime it will run fine and sometime it just will shut down before it even loads plz help tell me why it wont work
It is possible something is physically wrong with the video card, for example, a popped transistor. If the video card is three years old, it is probably time to upgrade anyway.
