my pc shut down after copper was applied to the card?
yea so i put a alluminium heatsink on my HDD with my intake fans cause i thought that would be cooler. then i got like this small long copper heatsink out of my old 3870 and put it on the underside of my GFX card 9800GT, my pc shut down why does applying copper to the underside (opposite from fan) cause a shut down>?
after 2 restarts it works a treat =) have i decreased the life, would u recomend a new card what have i done!
its probably shorting out your card... only places you should be putting heat sinks is on the Video ram and Video processor w/fan. If you did short it out you'll be lucky if it works again.
If it is running again you should be fine. It might have just been your video card wasn't seated all the way. Glad to hear it isn't broken!
