Recently my video card fried on me due to it overheating. I want to replace it, but first I would like to try and improve my computer's cooling and I'm not sure where to start.
After researching a little but, I've realized that my PC must have been pretty horrible at cooling in the first place -- I'm fairly sure that it only has three fans: one for the Video Card, one for the Power Supply, and one for the CPU. The problem is, the biggest fan found on PCs, the "case fan," actually doubles as the CPU fan via a big green shroud over the CPU that redirects air from the big case fan onto my CPU heatsink. How is my PC getting any cooling whatsoever if all three fans are used for anything BUT taking in cool air from outside the case? Do Dell Dimension desktops have hidden fans on the front? Is there any way to upgrade my cooling somehow by adding some sort of "intake" PCI fan?
you should have a extra power wire of the power supply I mounted and hand drilled a few holes in the side panel for air supply it dose well not pretty but works
