Fan Speed Display

Fan Speed Display
Problems with GTS 250 in some games. Display cuts out to monitor. Can anybody help?

Hi all

Some of the main specs of my rig: I have a Pentium E5200 with Corsair 4gb XMS2, an XFX GTS 250 512mb and 520w Coolermaster PSU, 3 hard drives, a dvd and dvd-rw and an X-Fi.

During some games, most recently GRID and prior to that Crysis and Crysis Warhead, the picture on my monitor goes blank. Forcing me to restart. Everything is still running, but just the picture cuts out mid-game.

I am sure my PSU is just about enough to run the GTS 250 and is pretty good quality. Do you think this problem is due to the PSU, should I upgrade it? Or is it airflow? And if so, how do I go about upping the fan speed on the graphics card?

Another thing to note is that I have overclocked my CPU from 2.6ghz to ~2.8ghz - would this help?

I really want to get my PhysX card in there as well, but am sure this is probably overkill and would need a new PSU anyway.

Would appreciate any help anyone can offer.

Thanks

John

Things you can try:

- Try running your system at default speeds (no overclocking). If your system runs stable afterwards, it's the overclocking that was causing your trouble.

- Check your temps and make sure your system isn't overheating.

- I doubt power is an issue, but checking it won't hurt. Your system config with the PDC E5200, GTX250, 3HDD, 2ODD, sound card will pull around 25 amps max on the +12V rail. If your PSU has at least that many amps on its +12V, you should have enough power.

Hope this helps.
