Fan Speed Sound
why does the two speed fan that sits over the processor sound like it laboring when playing a game and loud?
Well, the game is causing the processor to work harder. Fans generally have two speeds. You're probably just hearing the higher speed kick in. I would inspect the fan to make sure it's not clogged and download Speedfan to see the speed change/ Hard drive Sentinel to monitor the temperature.
As an added note, they do make quieter fans for cheap. Just go to a computer or electronics store and check them out. Stock fans are normally bottom of the barrel.
