can an old Compaq Presario desktop PC handle a 19" LCD flat panel monitor? What drives the fonts to be clear?

The internet display is great. The fonts on Email and menus are terribly fuzzy and barely recognizable. Is it the adapter, the graphics card or do I just need a new PC. I'm using Windows 98 OS. Compaq Presario 433 which handled a 17" crt with no problems.

this depends on your video card
normally yes, all modern video cards can handle that, but it comes down to what resolution and DPI (dots per inch) that you want to run at.
also, windows has an option somewhere to display fonts on lcds more clearly. i cant remember what/where it is right now though. and i dont think it even exists for windows 98, s good luck with that. i think it's time for you to upgrade
