I have a custom case with a fan in front and a fan on the top. I recently installed XP Pro and ever since then my computer won't fully go into sleep mode. It used to work just fine before, even with my new casing. When I put it into sleep, my case fans and processor fans stay on, but yet the HD's go to sleep.
try this .. press start ...turn off computer .. then press hibernate (HOLD SHIFT) and this should be resolved if you use the keyboard to make it sleep.. the key is set to do the wrong action .. go into control panel.. keyboard then choose the option when i press the sleep key i want windows to.. and choose hibernate
well from what i can remember is the default setting for the Sleep button is to put it in standby ... have u tried what i said to ?
