why does the gateway 2000 series not have fan?
why is it that gateway did not put any fan in the gateway 2000 solo laptops ive had overheating alot!
Well, if your Gateway 2000 laptop is running windows 98 (which it should) or 2000 (the utmost limit for most of them) then it's simple. The reason they didn't have fans originally was because they never ran fast enough to get hot enough to overheat. If you're running something like XP (even the standard edition) then there's a problem, but on my one which i have (from the "obsolete archive i keep at home) then there should be a little flap thingy which opens above the keyboard which stops it from overheating by using the natural power of cool air.
