I'm building a budget gaming PC with a GTX460, an Intel i5 760, a 1.5TB HDD, 4 x 2GB DDR3 1333 RAM, and a 20" LED monitor. I need to know what kind of power supply i need for this build.
For the GTX 460 you need a power supply of at least 500-550 watts with TWO (not just one) dedicated PCI-E power connectors. The best card you can run with a 450-500W psu and single power connector is the Radeon 5770, which is a step down from the GTX 460.
The 500W psus from Corsair and Silverstone would probably work too, but they only have 34A on the +12V rail compared to 41A for the Corsair 550W unit. I'd rather spend $20 more for the extra breathing room.
