Is it safe to bend the heat pipes on my cpu cooler / heatsink?
This aftermarket cpu heatsink has 4 long non copper pipes. I think they're made out of aluminum. It interferes with other parts in my case so I need to bend them about 180 degrees total. Will it ruin the heat pipe's functionality or break it? I know there is a thermal fluid inside so I don't want to break it. The pipes are the standard 1/4" diameter used on typical cpu coolers.
You can bend heat pipes, I have personally done an 90 degree bend but not an 180.
But if was with just copper heat pipe.
Your best bet take the cooler to a engineering shop an ask them if they can.
