cleaning off old thermal paste off an unused cpu heatsink?
i have a intel cpu heatsink tat i'm planning to use.. it has squished thermal paste on it.... it's like 3 months so... how do i remove it EASILY... WITHOUT BUYING ANYTHING... i have 70% isopropyl alcolhol... so should i use a lighter to heat up da paste to remove it easier??? don't worry i won't put the heatsink rite on top of the lighter.just beside

Hold on fire starter are you nuts ?isopropyl alcohol and a lighter ?All you need is a cloth with a little dab of alcohol,then wipe the heatsink and cpu clean.If the thermal paste is only 3 months old it should not be harden
