Like my last question, are these 2 processors noticeably different besides 10 dollars?
The Q8200 is about 35% faster, definitely worth the extra $10.
The 8MB/4MB number is the size of the cache on the processor. This cache is used to hold frequently-accessed information.
The 2.33GHz/2.4GHz number is the clock frequency in billions of cycles per second.
The 1066/1333 FSB number is the speed of the front-side bus in millions of transactions per second. The processor uses the front-side bus to access memory.
The primary reason for the large difference in performance, however, isn't really due to any of those things. It's largely due to the Q8200's more sophisticated micro-architecture (Yorkfield) and improved process (45nm). This also means the Q8200 consumes less power.
Assuming the Q6600 is a G0 stepping (which any still on the market are almost certain to be, unless it's used), they both have about equal overclocking potential.
