Can a laptop hard drive be made a slave drive on a desktop?
My desktop is fairly old and it already has a slave drive from an even older computer. My dell laptop just died and I'd like to get the information off of it, so is it possible to take the hard drive out of my laptop and make it a slave drive on my desktop? Also, would I have to remove the existing slave drive in the desktop or can I just add another one?
You would need to go to best buy or some place like that and buy a portable hard drive enclosure. and then but the laptop HD in that and then plug in that via usb. That's what I did with mine and worked great. the only bad thing is that just an enclosure is like $40.
