I know its a silly question. But I still want to ask. Does AMD and Intel mobo(motherboard) for the same laptop model(mine which is HP presario V3000) have same form factor(same size and shape to fit in the housing of the laptop)?
This idea pop up from my freaking head as I want a nVidia graphic accelerator for my laptop, which only came with AMD processor, not in Intel and I'm using Intel.
So I'm thinking to replace my mobo & processor from Intel to AMD, will this be possible? Give me a budget if I want to do this crazy project...
Is it better for me just to buy a new laptop or do this crazy work? I'm a bit low on cash so please help answer this question.
Provide me with some source(weather its based on exp, a link or anything that can make me trust your answers)
To give more detail, my laptop is V3759TU.
And try not to give a silly answers to me as I'm going to "report it as abused". Answer as serious as you can.
If you change processor,it means you have to change motherboard as well which takes up a good portion of the total cost.On top of it you are trying this on a laptop,which makes it more complicated and mistakes can render the laptop not at all usable.
So my suggestion will be to go for a new laptop.Also AMD need not be better than Intel.I am using V6000 series with AMD turion.I've already replaced MB twice because of excess heat produced by processor.Pls,do double check processor details before deciding on new laptop
