I have a dell inspiron 1520 and when i turn it on nothing shows up......... I took off the casing and unscrewed the lcd from the computer but it seems like there is a cable that i cant identify? Iknow the lcd cable attaches itself to the top of the lcd and the bottom....so two points. but to the right of the top connector there is a piece just hanging straight up not connected to anything. My question is....is this suppose to be connected to something and it is broke? And if it is broke where do i find another one of these pieces? In desperate need of help thank you. The connector is a tyco fm5 ver4 if that means anything?
Ps. I guess i should add ive done this before but ive never seen a connector like this. Therefore i am asking this question.
If you are referring to an orange cable that is actually to the left(connectors to the computer closest to you) It's actually for the camera. This cable is part of the green cable running up the back of the panel itself.
Other than that if you have a cable to nowhere, and no end connectors to id, something broke.
Try hooking the unit up to an external monitor if you have one, if that comes up, then you'll definitely need a new panel.
