Do some monitors require a different video card?
I bought some off-brand flat panel LCD monitor real cheap, new. I have a HP that had an old ancient monitor hooked up to it, and when I tried using the directions for the new one, it wouldn't work right. It wouldn't let me change mHz or colors or anything in the setup/control panel, and when it DOES work, the color is all jacked up (like an Andy Warhol painting). The only way it works is if we "trick" the computer by starting up with the old monitor and then attaching the new one while its already on. Any ideas?
Having experienced the same problem I think you should get a new video card. The video card should be using a frequency that is the same of the new monitor. That is why your colors are scrambled.
