I have a Dell inspirion 6000 and I just replaced the broken LCD with a new samsung lcd. Tried to load computer and received a blank screen.I hooked up an external monitor and that worked fine. I loaded a fresh copy of windows xp and the screen is still blank. I tried to install monitor driver and no luck finding one. I then did a system test and it said couldn't locate lcd inverter. I changed the inverter and that worked but then said couldn't locate lcd monitor. Any Ideas on why it will not find the new lcd. Even under system devices there is nothing for monitor.
I thought it was the lcd cable so I bought another one. It is the same one that came with the computer originally. Do I need one that is made for the new lcd?
which cable are you using. Sounds like something with the lcd cable which should connect to inverter also then to the board. Yes, there is a difrence, there is SVGA and VGA or VGA+ and VGA-. You can check ont he original lcd panel and cable to see what it was it should match.
