Mad Dog Geforce
I need help on upgrading my computer?

I was wondering what hardware (such as a graphics card, sound card, cd/dvd or blu-ray drive, etc.) my computer is capable of upgrading to without having to buy a new power supply. I am mainly searching for a good or atleast better graphics card to upgrade to.

My Custom-built computer
ASUS A8N-VM-CSM (Motherboard)
AMD Athlon(tm) 64 Processor 3500+ at 2.21 GHZ (CPU)
NVIDIA GeForce 6150 (graphics card)((i think its built-in))
HP w1907 Wide LCD monitor 19" (monitor)
SoundMAX Inegrated Digital HD Audio (sound card)((i think its built in))
160 GB SATA WD Caviar SE (hard drive)
Mad Dog MD-16XDVD9A4 (DVD/CD ROM Drive)
430 Watt Power Supply

if all you have is an onboard video card, then just about any video card will be better.

your power supply is plenty good for what you are doing. just look at some newer video cards. some have a point on the card you plug your power supply into. so if you don't have a power supply that has video card connector, i would stay away from those cards. according to your motherboard, make sure you get a pci-express card.

your on board audio supports 5.1 channels, so i wouldn't even bother with a sound card. Plus it already is HD audio. unless you are really into sound and a music editor. getting a card will only take minor pressure off of your cpu. audio isn't too demanding.

if you are making the move to blu-ray. then get a blu-ray drive. i'm not too sure about they're abilities, but you may still want to get a dvd drive/burner too. i'm not to sure about your mad dog dvd drive, but sounds like more than one really needs. just stick with a simple sony or lite-on drive for like $20. plus i'm reading lots of bad reviews on that specific drive.
