I have a reflex bag http://www.amazon.com/TITLE-Silver-Bullet-Reflex-Unfilled/dp/B00114XC9U the base was ruined so I changed it to another piece of wood that was larger. I mounted the old metal bracket on the wood and it works soo much better then it originally came. The only problem that is still there is the threaded pipe is slightly too small for the bracket it threads into. How can I stop this from wobbling. What about plumbing tape? Or is there something specifically made to close the gap.
You'd have to use a LOT of plumbers tape, as it is very very thin and it gets meshed into the threads when used. (thats how it stops water from leaking around a threaded fixture type)
Not sure how much play there is with what you have now, but you could try several different things.
A. You could drill a hole thru the stand/pipe and secure it to the wooden base using standard fasteners/hardware
B. You could try wrapping the stand in duct tape where it gets seated into the wooden base. That would make a tighter fit at least
C. You could get creative and use a small length of pipe, probably metal would be best for durability, and insert the stand into the pipe section, after you securely join the pipe and the wooden base together.
You get the idea, right? You can probably think of other original ideas, considering you already came up with a new base for it!
