Will generic PC memory work an iMAC G3/400 Mhz Slot loading?
I have an iMAC G3/400 Mhz Slot loading with 64 MB of RAM. I want to upgrade to 512MB and thinking of buying two PC100, 168 pin DIMM. The specs from apple are as follows.
*Module Size: 256MB *
*Package: 168-pin DIMM** gold contacts*
Configuration: 32 x 64 *
*Synchronous Dynamic Random Access Memory, PC-100 (SDRAM)
*Buffering: Unbuffered *
*Error Checking: Non-parity *

Are these generic SD-RAM DIMMS? I am thinking of getting it from craigslist as opposed to a retailer who charges 3x.
If you buy Sdram PC100, and buy two 'sticks' of 256MB, with CL2,(Latency), and unbuffered,(non-Ecc), plus voltage at 3.3Volts, you should be okay.
