The dust is not as bad..but can capture moisture--and hold it in place longer than would be normal..
Huge..black dust..that's dirt--not dust../Yes..that can be a problem on some ITEMS--like the Fan..
Every once in a while I open my Computer Case and useing a tiny..slightly damp cloth--pick up the small amounts of dust..
Should I remove my digital sound card or video card..I do give it a wipe with a camel hair--brush..
Dust really should not harm anything..you might smell a slight odor..at times..
Dust has never harmed any of my equipment..
But I clean all my stuff a couple of times per year..

Protect the Mobo..
You don't want to drag your desktop computer across the table--always lift it and place it down--gently..
Don't use any wax or polish on electrionic equipment..
I wipe my CRT Screen with some medicinal alcohol--on a rag..
My LCD Screen just get s a slightly damp cloth--useing water..
I use a damp cloth on my computer cases..and other devices(router-modem)
I use some ammonia..on a rag to clean all my computer cables..and power cords..
..that's about it..
Be careful about having ANY fluid drip into the BUTTONS..
Don't use ammonia on electric parts..amonnia can be corrosive..
I've built..3-desktops..
Never have had a serious issue.
