Normal Lcd Backlight

Does stand by mode of LCD monitors take life off of its panel?
So I was wondering when a computer LCD monitor enters into its Active-off mode, does that still take life off of it's normal lifespan? To be more specific, I own a dell 2408wfp and the power light is green when using any of its inputs...I use dvi for computer and HDMI for dvd player. Sometimes, I'll watch a movie on the dvd player before going to sleep and get too lazy to get up and turn off the monitor so I'll just turn off the dvd player. Once the dvd player is off, the power light on the monitor will turn amber and enter into Active-off mode, where the backlight of the monitor seems to be off...I'm not sure though. Will that take life off of the monitor as compared to turning the power of the monitor completely off? Thanks.
The main purpose of the stand by mode is to save energy, but of course this also increase the life of the LCD because it is not in use.
Hope this clarifies your doubt.
