I wanted to get a good graphics card for my computer so i can play left 4 dead or call of duty etc. I soon found out that you cant really get good graphics cards for pci or pciE x1. So, i was browsing the net one day looking for a good card and i found an adapter that went from pciex16 and brought it down to fit inside a pcix1 interface. I just want to know if i buy the adapter will the pciex16 graphics card run left 4 dead cod 4 etc. even when it is watered down to x1 speed.
well my question is will the adapter still let me play cod 4? is the adapter still gonna let graphics card gonna give off enough power even though its watered down to x1 speed.
How good is a pci x64 slot?
eh.....agp if you have it would be the next best solution. a 3850 from ati will play anything you want at ok settings. if the converter works, im sure left 4 dead and cod4 will run ok enough with maybe a 9600gt or so. you dont want to bottleneck anything to expensive. cod4 is more on the cpu side than most games. l4d i dont know but i won it and i run it completely maxed with my 8800gt. maybe a mobo would be better to get with a gfx card if you got some money. if not try things you can refund
