Will my nvidia geforce 8400 gs still function with 2 pins snapped?
Hello, i have an nvidia geforce 8400 gs, which i use. My motherboard just recently went down, i removed everything from it and put them aside. After closer examination of the card, i realized that two of the pins that go into the PCIe slot had about 20% of it missing. My question is will the pins still reach the PCIe connector in the new mobo? or does it need the entire pin to reach? I have ordered the mobo but it is not here yet. the card functioned fine before the mobo went but i do not think i bought it like that. Feedback is appreciated!
Additional Information: The Card was bought brand new at Best Buy, and functioned perfectly. I think it was stuck when i pulled it out, and yes i unlocked it before i pulled it out. The downed and new mobo is the Biostar G31-M7 TE.
Most likely not because the pins have to have a connections to the slot (you can try it) but if i doesn't work than try to get best buy to take it back for "poor quality" or some else. Hope it helps.
