Why would a TV have a PC card (PCMCIA) slot?
Laptops often have a pc card slot for network cards for example. I recently got a new TV and found a pc card slot on it. What could it be for?
Just to be clear, it is a PCMCIA slot or PC card slot. It is NOT a sky viewing card slot or anything like that.
Please do not answer unless you're pretty sure you know the answer.
Sounds like CableCard to me, which was supposed to allow your TV to receive digital cable without needing an external cable box. While you can still get them, I've heard it's a bit of a hassle convincing your cable company to give you one.
