I av 5 yr old Tiny comp + AMD Athlon xp2000+ runnin 1.67Ghz, 248MB RAM.How do I find 1Gb RAM compatibility?
I need to upgrade to a minimum of 256 Gb to run internet and anti-virus according to BT technical support. I would prefer to go up to 512 or possibly 1Gig. But the problem is apparently I need to know
1.'parity' or 'non-parity'
2. Speed of RAM (ie 60 nanoseconds)
3. SIMMs or DIMMs
4. FPM, EDO or synch DRAM
5. How many pins on motherboard-30,72 or 168
How on earth do I find these things out?

Neal beat me to it; the Crucial website will tell you exactly what RAM your computer uses. http://www.crucial.com/uk/
Don't worry too much about the details, all you really need to know is the type of RAM - probably DDR or SD RAM and what speed it is (you can put different speed RAM sticks together but they will run at the speed of the slowest stick).
