How can I get a Proliant DL 320 to boot from SATA controller card?
I have a G1 Compaq Proliant DL320. It has SCSI controller and IDE controller built in, but I'd like to use SATA drives in it. I installed a new SATA card in it and the most recent BIOS. The system sees the card and will put it first in the boot order. I can format the drive during Setup and can install an OS to it (FreeBSD). However, I cannot boot from the drive. I select the controller and drive in setup, but it never gets booted from. What am I missing?
Jerry - thanks for that idea - unfortunately didn't work in this case.
I ran across this discussion, it MIGHT work. I would scroll down the page a bit and try the raid suggestion.
