can i get an adapter so i can put a sata(Serial ATA-300) drive into my 2.5in ide laptop port. i bought one in error and was wondering if i can get something to enable me to put it into my ide laptop
Sorry, to the best of my knowledge from recurring visits and shopping at a huge local PC electronics chain called MICRO CENTER where they actually sell OEM drives, there is no adapter for 2.5" Notebook Hard Drives and the two different types of 2.5" Notebook PC hard drives are NOT INTERCHANGEABLE as you most likely see the interface connection is completely different ...
I have upgraded one of each, meaning at the time I replaced the SATA hard drive on a brand new DELL Latitude D620 but that particular SATA hard drive could not be utilized on installed on my older DELL Latitude D800, Pentium M 1.7 CPU processor and I had to purchase the 2.5" ATA100/IDE hard drive bec FYI the interface is completely different, and that is apparent when you have one of each in front of you if you mistakenly bought the wrong one...as technology has evolved.
