IDE to SATA or SATA to IDE?
I have an old IDE hard drive (not really that old; Pentium 4 era) with some data that I want to retrieve from it. Unfortunately the computer that it was a part of, the power supply failed. My brand new computer only has Serial ATA slots, but I need to retrieve data from the old hard drive, and I'm not sure what type of converter or adapter I need. When I tried shopping for an adapter online, the descriptions were no help at all. Can somebody help with a link or something? What's it called?
A friend of mine has a IDE to usb adapter which is very handy since you dont have to go inside your computer, just plug it into an available usb port. Here's a link to one from newegg.com:
