How do you reset all the settings on a mac?
jw how you reset all the setting, to the ORIGINAL ones. Like all the key board short cuts b/c all of my short cuts (f4, f5 f6 etc.) got all screwed up. oh i have a macbook os x if that helps 
You could create a new account, copy all of your stuff to the new account, and then delete the old account. But I would suggest finding out the real solution to your problem. First step would be to identify the problem by being more specific.
I'm guessing that when you press the F buttons, that it is not doing what it's supposed to do (volume, brightness, etc.) Try pressing the FN Key while pressing those buttons. If it starts working again, change your setting in System Preferences.
In the Keyboard & Mouse pane in System preferences, choose the Keyboard tab. Uncheck the box next to "Use all F1, F2, etc. keys as standard function keys"
