Hey, I've recently bought Creative Sound Blaster X-FI 5.1 VX sound card, but when I have a problem with my PC recognizing it, actually is not the PC, it's own software can't recognize it. When I double click on software icon in toolbar it says "The audio device supported by this application is not detected. The application will exit." But my PC recognized the hardware fine, and when I plugin my headphones and speakers in the sound card it works, but also my microphone from headphones is muted and sound is very low, so I would like some help if it's possible
i have a on-board sound card but I was in BIOS and I can't find anything that says audio/sound or even on board audio/sound, I was in mic mixer and it's recognized, it says microphone 5.1 VX (like sound card) but I can't make it work :/
Is it possible that you already had a sound card installed, or an on-board audio chipset installed, before you got this Creative X-Fi card? If so, you might have to completely uninstall the old card's software. If its an on-board chipset, like a Realtek or a Via AC97, then you must go into your system's BIOS before windows loads and disable the on-board chipset.
As far as your mic being set too low, check the audio properties, under the mic mixer there should be an "advanced" button, check that and make sure that the 20dB gain boost is enabled. Also, some mics have a mute button right on the cord, double check that as well.
