How do I connect an old ATA hard drive to a new mother boar where has not IDE cable for ATA?
How do I connect an old 500 Gb ATA hard drive to a new mother boar where has not IDE cable for ATA but has only for SATA?
I have an old ATA hard drive with data. I bought a new dell computer and the hard drive is a SATA and mother boar has not connector for ATA drive.
I have also installed ULTRA 66 controller card, probably I can use it for ATA drive data cable connection. How do I connect power to my old drive, I could not find proper splitter cable. If somebody is knowing, please inform me, thanks
IDE<->SATA converters are one option but price up the cost of a PCI (or PCIe) IDE controller first. I've found these are invariably cheaper than buying a converter.
