I'm setting up an old pc for my girlfriend and I have 2.5gigs of ram for it the motherboard is a A8V-E Deluxe w/ a Athlon 4000x2 socket 939 processor. The Bios are updated to version 11 already. I know some motherboards will do this but not all of them.. The first two sticks are crucial 1 gig sticks with memory timings of 1-1-1-2 the other stick is 512MB of Super Talent and I dont know the memory timings but either way If i install the first 2 1 gig sticks in dual channel slots and the other one in a third slot will the ram stay in dual channel. Granted the timing is going to need to be set to the slower rams speed but will the first two sticks be running in dual channel they are all PC3200 and at 400MHz. Or is there a way to just stick it in and see if they are running in dual channel mode or not?
